events with weights larger than max_weight in Madspin

Asked by Josh Bendavid

Do I need to worry if I have a small number of events with weight larger than max_weight in Madspin?

INFO: Number of events with weights larger than max_weight: 1

Or is this ok?

Thanks,
Josh

Hi Josh,

Yes and no.

This shows that the maximum weight is under-estimated which can means that you can expect some bias in the final distribution.
Now the fact that you have only one means that this is usually fine. This can be related to some off-shell events which breaks the universality of the upper-bound.

Cheers,

Olivier
