PBS cluster - adjust the number cores and memory?

Asked by TMartin

I checked one of the MG logs and it had a series of lines:

                         MadEvent Options
                         ----------------
     automatic_html_opening : False (user set)
          cluster_temp_path : None
              cluster_queue : all.q (user set)
             cluster_memory : None
               cluster_time : None
                    nb_core : 4 (user set)
                   run_mode : 1 (user set)

I am not sure where I set nb_core, but it says (user set). And I noticed that there appears to be the possibility to set cluster_memory and cluster_time. I haven't found the location of where I can change all of these things.

Can someone tell me exactly how to adjust these features of MadGraph?

Those value can be change either via the set command
(set name VALUE)

or by editing one of the configuration file. ( the list of configuration file and their precedence are written at the beginning of the log.
I usually edit the file input/mg5_configuration.txt

Olivier

I see nb_core now (still not sure why it says user set when it is set as its default value).

But I do not see the cluster_memory or cluster_time entries. Are these things I can just add to mg5_configuration.txt?

Actually those two options doesn’t seems to be used anymore.
I actually not even sure if they were used at any point. The idea was to allow to have a framework such that any user
can use those if they need to modify the way the submission to the cluster is handle.

Cheers,

Olivier
