Synaptic crashes and doesn't start

Asked by Kork

Synaptic crashes before starting. I tried to add a source in the repositories list from the terminal following the instructions founded in a web page. But I probably wrote something wrong...

this is the message given by synaptic

E: Malformed line 58 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse)
E: The list of sources could not be read.
Go to the repository dialog to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

Without a copy of your sources.list, we can't guess what's wrong ...

Oh, You're right, I'm sorry... I'm quite new on this world.
However, I found the solution in the Italian forum: the problem was a
wrong repository. I just changed it...
Thank you again,
Jorge
