How uninstall medibuntu?

Asked by joseph de doulos

My operating system is 9.10 Karmic. Installed Medibuntu as per instructions. One error message read: line 2 not installed or something like that. Now Synaptic will not work, only gives message that Medibuntu files not accessible. Would like to uninstall it. Please advise of procedure. Thank you.

You just need to remove the repository file :
 sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list

Thank you for your quick and live reply, however, it did not work.  Since I am still a little shakey when it comes to typing command lines, I tried it two ways, but as it appears.
The first: sudo (space) rm (space) /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list (no spaces).  I was asked for my password, but when I pressed enter all I got back as quick as I pressed enter was the command line prompt.

Then, I typed: sudo (space) rm/etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list (without spaces).  This time I got the message that there was no such command.

Did I leave something out? or, what did I miss?

I appreciate your help.

Joseph

Thank you for your quick and live reply. It worked and Synaptic Package Manager is back on line.

It must have been a silent and quick fix, thank you very much.  Because I got no indication that anything had happened.  And as soon as I sent the first reply, it occurred to me to try Synaptic Manager and see if I got the same error message about Medibuntu, but it was not there and Synaptic opened up as it should.

Thank you again, and I will click the link also to verify the problem was solved.

Make it a good day.
