Czech alphabet in EPG

Asked by melsoft

Hi all,
today I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04. After starting ME-TV the EPG texts are corrupted (Czech aplphabet). In Ubuntu 8.04 (no idea which version of ME-TV) there was easy workaround:
open ~/.me-tv/me-tv.config
find <add key="epg_encoding" value="auto"/>
replace with <add key="epg_encoding" value="iso 6937"/>
after then delete ~/.me-tv/epg.xml , start ME-TV causes creating of new epg.xml
This doesn´t work anymore! The EPG stays unchanged, the epg.xml isn´t created anymore!
Please is there a new workaround?

Many thanks Jan

The option is now in the preferences dialog called "Text Encoding". After changing delete ~/.me-tv/me-tv.db which will delete all channels and EPG events.

I had to delete the me-tv.config, then I changed the Preferneces-Text Encoding to iso6937 - OK a then restarted the ME-TV. Thats all.

BTW: after stopping the ME-TV it stays in the memory (sleeping). I have to kill it manually! Otherwise there is not possible to start ME-TV again. Whats the reason? (bug?)

No this is not a bug! you need to either click on file/quit or right click
on the Me TV icon in the notification area and select quit!

Hallo Scott,

thank You for Your advice. I closed the ME-TV window using a cross in right upper corner. (Old habits from Windows times - never more!). Using File - Quit, or Ctrl-Q works fine of course.

Regards Jan
