Where is the channels.conf file in Me TV 1.3.7 on Ubuntu 12.10

Asked by Michael P

Where is the channels configuration file in Me TV 1.3.7 on Ubuntu 12.10?
Everyone seems to think that it is in ~/.me-tv/ , but it isnt.

user@pc:~$ ls -la .me-tv/
drwxrwxr-x 2 user user 4096 Feb 25 08:26 .
drwxr-xr-x 75 user user 4096 Feb 25 08:26 ..
prw-rw---- 1 user user 0 Feb 25 08:26 me-tv.fifo

The channels stay stored, even when i rm -rf the whole folder.
A "locate channels.conf" did not return any results, same for "find . -name channels.conf"

Where is it?
Since there is no _menu entry_ or _button_ to start a manual scan, and the first time scan did not find all channels (only 12 from 32, because i had bad reception), i need me-tv to rescan.
I dont understand why there is no menu entry for that, such a typical design flaw in open source software.

thank you:-)
i prefer me-tv oder kaffeine, because kaffeine sometimes mutes the sound for a very long time when the reception is bad.
i hope you get some developers again soon.

I just realized, you are able to make me-tv scan for new channels without deleting the channel db.
you need to click on "add" in the channels window -> top right.
