Calendar flashes then closes

Asked by John Rasmussen

I am running elementary-freya and can't get Calendar to remain open. When I click on the app it flashes open briefly (maybe 1 second) then closes. I am also running Calendar-Indicator so I don't know if that conflicts at all. I did try exiting out of Calendar-Indicator and opening Maya (Calendar), but it did not make any difference.

Hey John,

here's a quick and dirty for you...

go to ~/.config/evolution delete all files in the evolution config directory, then start Maya again and reconfigure. Please take care not to enter your mail address as user-name when you're asked to enter your Google user-name. Enter only your user-name without "@gmail.com" and it should work.

Thanks, I will give that a try tonight when I am back home. Just to
clarify, when you say start Maya again and reconfigure, does the
reconfigure happen automatically? If not, could you give me
instructions on how to do that?

John

Hey John,

when you delete the Files in the configuration directory, its as though Maya is freshly installed. In other words, you'll be deleting the previously misconfigured Calender and reconfiguring it.

That's why you need to reconfigure Maya. The Files are automatically created when you start the calender.
