Connecting a virtual computer to the internet through a virtual router and "Gateway device". Can this be done? How?

Asked by Lowell

I have been working with the Marionnet simulator for a couple of weeks. I am able to get the virtual machines to connect to the internet but only if they are directly connected to one of the Gateways or connected to a gateway through a switch. I would like to use one gateway connected to a router that is servicing several domains and allow all of the machines in these domains to connect to the internet through one gateway. Can this be done? I can't find any documentation regarding this issue and it seems like this should be an option.

Hello,

I have just tried with the last version (trunk), with two domains behind a routeur connected to a "Gateway device".
Packets were transmitted except icmp packets (this is a well known problem of slirpvde, may be
this is your problem ?) TCP and UDP packets are ok.

Bye

Thank you for your help.

How do I know if I'm running (trunk)? I used the Marionnet web page to
source the version I am running and used the marionette from scratch script
to install it. It doesn't say trunk anywhere that I can find.

Thank's again for your help.
