Do you mean, when mariadb deb will be part of the official Ubuntu
release ?

Packages in official Ubuntu repositories are the decision of the Ubuntu Core Devs and MOTUs.

Currently there are issues regarding package naming conventions that make inclusion of MariaDB alongside MySQL somewhat problematic. Monty Program employees and MariaDB Community members are working with the MySQL Debian and Ubuntu maintainers to resolve these conflicts.

We hope to have a solution shortly after UDS-Natty. Stay tuned.
