stopped working - glib.GError: Unable to connect to server

Asked by mikio

hi,

magick rotation stopped working - for you too?

it happened after a restart. on the day before my system did a package update (i did not check which ones..)

i just noticed that nothing happened when i rotated the screen. i then noticed that there is no icon in the panel anymore. i reinstalled the program, following the instructions. but it did not start working again. i also followed the troubleshooting instructions - nothing changed.

here is what i get when i run the script by hand:

./magick-rotation
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "./magick-rotation", line 236, in <module>
magick = engine()
File "./magick-rotation", line 121, in __init__
self.toggle_touch()
File "./magick-rotation", line 143, in toggle_touch
self.touch_on.show()
glib.GError: Unable to connect to server

in between i also tried to install xournal from scratch. i thought that maybe the installation of dependent packages might have messed things up. i removed them again, but it still does not work - i am not sure what the cause of the problem is..

any ideas?
miki
