The analysis results of lhco and root format are very different.

Asked by Shuer Yang

Hi, MA5 developers
I generated some events at future electron collider and I found there are more jets than expected in root files. I also checked the events files of processes pp>z>mu+ mu- and e+e-> z > mu+ mu- in delphes level. I found the analysis results of lhco file and ROOT file carried out by MA5 are very different. Especially , the muons in root file are much smaller than expected. The events file in ROOT format are generated by madgraph 5 in delphes level. The lcho file are generated by delphes script ROOT2lhco. I think the default for lhco and root . I think it is weired. Is there anything wrong for me?
Thanks !

Hi Shuers

It is normal to observe difference since delphes applies detector level modifications on your events. Ma5 is only an event file reader at this stage, if you are suspicious about your events I suggest asking to Mg5 or Delphes collaborations.

HI Jack.
Thanks for your quick reply. I know that using delphes means detector level events. I used the root file after delphes and translated to the lhco file by the delphes. They are in the same detector level. It might be that I missed some point in the translation from root to lhco. As you suggested, I will go ask Delphes group for help.
Best regards,
Shuer
