Obtaining plots in expert mode

Asked by ali

Hi,

I am a new user in expert mode. Therefore, i read roughly almost every written pdfs, manuals about expert mode, but i could not see that how can i obtain plots in expert mode at the end of manuals. So, i am trying to obtain plots (etc. MET, THT, ..) for days, i could not succeed. In today, help of this link "https://madanalysis.irmp.ucl.ac.be/wiki/UsingMa5Pad" i tried it again step by step but, in the output directory there is just ".saf" files there is no png's or another plot formats. Please help me to do it.

Thanks & Regards,

Ali

Hi Ali,

You need to generate the plots yourself, starting from the digitized versions of the histograms contained in the SAF files. Having a better option is on our to-do list, but this is not for a close future.

Benjamin

Thanks again,

In the saf file first block has some values and the second block values are all zero, for instance,

0.000000e+00 0.000000e+00 # underflow
5.250000e+02 0.000000e+00 # bin 1 / 200
1.058000e+03 0.000000e+00 # bin 2 / 200
1.006000e+03 0.000000e+00
8.820000e+02 0.000000e+00
6.720000e+02 0.000000e+00
5.650000e+02 0.000000e+00
4.360000e+02 0.000000e+00
3.910000e+02 0.000000e+00
3.110000e+02 0.000000e+00
2.350000e+02 0.000000e+00
1.960000e+02 0.000000e+00
1.650000e+02 0.000000e+00

....

Just with this values how can i draw a plot and what is mean of that two blocks.

Hi,

The first column corresponds to the entries of each bin.

Cheers,

Benjamin
