I use KDE. Do Ubuntu PPAs include Kubuntu.

Asked by Shabakthanai

At this address: https://launchpad.net/~bz/+archive/ppa/+packages?redirection_url=https://launchpad.net/%7Ebz/+archive/ppa/+packages
import-all-ppa-keys - 0.3.2-0ubuntu1~ppa1 is offered. I am not too experienced.

I use Kubuntu Jaunty on one computer and Kubuntu Karmic on another. This appears to be an easy way to include all appropriate ppa-keys, but does not give me confidence it works with Kubuntu. The way my software sources appear using Kpackagekit, sometimes the PPA refers only to ubuntu with no additional comment referring to kubuntu. If I import all ppa keys as mentioned above, do I install the necessary kubuntu keys as well? I am sorry to bother you with what is probably a very beginner question.

If this does not apply to kubuntu, is there an address that provides similarly for kubuntu users.

Thanks!
Steven

Well, you can install that package, but you have to understand that
installing packages depends on your desktop environment, like for
example there are some softwares that are native to Gnome like gedit and
there are some native to KDE, if you try to install one that's native to
Gnome on KDE it will give you install dependencies of ~400 mgs. which is
downloading the entire gnome-core, so before installing a ppa, just
check the read-me file for dependencies and if they are native to gnome
