Ist auf diesem Stick ein Installations-Kit für Ubuntu 16.04, oder eine ganze Installation?
Was ist der zukünftige Zweck - ein Installations-Medium, um Ubuntu 18.04 auf einer Festplatte zu installieren, oder soll Ubuntu 18.04 auf dem Stick installiert werden?

ein Installationskit, entsprechend soll1804 auf diesem Stick gespeichert werden

Um einen Ubuntu-Installations-Kit (z.B. für 18.04) darauf zu speichern, kann man die Prozedur https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/tutorial-create-a-usb-stick-on-ubuntu durchführen. Dabei wird alles, was zu diesem Zeitpunkt auf dem Stick ist gelöscht und der neue Installations-Kit darauf eingerichtet, sodass dann von diesem Stick ein Ubuntu-System auf der Festplatte installiert werden kann.

I assume that your mail system breaks the link into pieces for whatever nonsense reason.

Beim upgrade hängen geblieben, zu wenig Speicher (49,9MB).
Vorher schon ein andere empfohlene Methode ausprobiert, bei der Ausführung steckengeblieben. Leider das Terrminal aus Versehen gelöscht.Output beim 2. Terminal:

Das Paket-Management-System verhindert, dass zwei Prozesse gleichzeitig Pakete installieren. Allem Anschein nach läuft noch ein anderer Prozess zur Paket-Installation.

Entweder warten, bis der Prozess beendet ist, oder (wenn der Prozess hängen geblieben ist) rebooten. Dann sollte die Installation wieder laufen.

Mit einem 18.04 iso file kann ich also leicht den gewünschten Stick bekommen, ist also die Frage wie bekomme ich einen 18.04 iso file. Daher die Frage, wie bekomme ich ein upgrade vofn meinem 16.04 System auf

Worum geht es in dieser Frage nun genau?

1. Um die Herstellung eines Installations-USB-Sticks für Ubuntu 18.04
2. Um Probleme bei einem Update (Konnte Sperre … nicht bekommen)
3. Oder um ein Upgrade des derzeit installierten Ubuntu 16.04 auf Ubuntu 18.04?

kann upgrade nicht ausführen, da zu wenig Platz bei der Aktualisierung

"Not enough free space" ist ein völlig anderes Problem.

Zur weiteren Diagnose, was ist der Output der Kommandos:

Anmerkung: die Option "-d" für Update-manager schlägt ein Upgrade zur Entwicklungsversion vor (konkret derzeit Ubuntu 19.04, die Version die erst im April offiziell freigegeben werden soll). Ist das wirklich gewünscht?

Ich sehe da drei überflüssige Dateien, die gelöscht werden sollten:
