Unable to push my gpg keys to server

Asked by Vaidyanath

I get the following error.

Launchpad could not import your OpenPGP key

Did you enter your complete fingerprint correctly? (Help with fingerprints)
Is your key in the Ubuntu keyserver yet? You may have to wait between ten minutes (if you pushed directly to the Ubuntu key server) and one hour (if you pushed your key to another server). (Help with publishing keys)

Please do let me know if there are any workarounds

You do at least seem to have a key on the keyserver, at least now. Can you tell us the exact text you entered in the Launchpad form (copy and paste from before it fails)? Presumably it's the public key, in which case that's intended to be public information anyway.

The key which i have seems to be deleted from my system. I would like to add a new key to my name.

Vaidy

OK. You'll need to push the new key to keyserver.ubuntu.com if it isn't already there, and then copy the fingerprint into the Launchpad form you were using. https://help.launchpad.net/YourAccount/ImportingYourPGPKey has detailed instructions for both sets. If that still doesn't work, then we will need you to tell us the exact text of the fingerprint you entered.

That key isn't on the keyserver. You need to upload it to
keyserver.ubuntu.com before you can enter the fingerprint on
launchpad.net. Follow the instructions at
https://help.launchpad.net/YourAccount/ImportingYourPGPKey
