What permissions and group should have a translation project?

Asked by costales

Hi! I'm a Gufw's developer.
For an application like Gufw, how should be configured translations in Launchpad?
https://translations.launchpad.net/gui-ufw
Now there is as: "Gufw is translated by Launchpad Translators with Structured permissions"
Thanks in advance!

This question come from this issue:
https://answers.launchpad.net/gui-ufw/+question/252651

FYI: I tried to compare with others LP featured projects, but each one has different permissions/group:

by Launchpad Translators with Structured permission
   https://translations.launchpad.net/gwibber
   https://translations.launchpad.net/exaile

by Ubuntu Translators with Structured permission
   https://translations.launchpad.net/docky

by Ubuntu Translators with Open permission
   https://translations.launchpad.net/terminator

by Launchpad Translators with Open permissions

with Open permissions

There's no one way right that translations "should" be configured; if there was, we wouldn't provide the configuration options. Most projects use either Ubuntu Translators or Launchpad Translators. The Portuguese team in Launchpad Translators is much smaller than the one in Ubuntu Translators.

You have three main options: switch the project to use Ubuntu Translators, convince interested translators to join the Launchpad Translators teams instead, or switch the project from Structured to Open to let even non-members translate.
