How long does it take for a new PPA to be available?

Asked by Till Klampaeckel

We created a new PPA today and we seem to be unable to upload releases to it. I was wondering if there is a status page to see if the new PPA is ready yet?

Have you activated the PPA? When I go to your page, I see a link for
"PPA help page". Reading through it, about mid way down it talks about
"Activating a PPA" on your profile page, etc.

Do you have a few pointers? I'm not sure which profile page they are referring to?

We signed the code of conduct for our first ppa, but I can't find an option where I could do the same for this PPA.

Also where do you see the PPA help?

Ok, you got me started. Previously one of my devs had signed the COC. I've done that too and it all shows up in my account.

Any idea if I need to do something to the PPA now?

A PPA is ready as soon as it's created (or "activated", as some old pages call it). I can see from our logs that the package was signed with a key that you've not told Launchpad about. I also see that your account doesn't have any OpenPGP keys associated. I suggest following https://help.launchpad.net/YourAccount/ImportingYourPGPKey and trying to upload the package again.

I'll verify this with the developer tomorrow and see if he uploaded his key. Maybe he forgot this.

It strikes me as odd that the upload was successful and this thing doesn't trigger any email.

Any idea where I could see these logs?

The upload is just FTP; we can't currently do OpenPGP verification during the FTP session. And once the FTP session is closed, we need a signature to know who to send an email to!

The logs aren't publicly available.
