open id server problems

i use Launchpad.net as my Open ID server, linked with my gravitar. Ask Ubuntu (askubuntu.com) is registered on my launchpad Open ID. i added my windows live email address to my Launchpad.net info, which changed my Open ID (old id: https://launchpad.net/~mattadams-adams) (new id: https://launchpad.net/~mattadams-adams-i). now, stack exchange thinks i am a new user, and i can not access my account under my old id, as it is not linked to me anymore. what do i do? i have questions on my old ask ubuntu thing, and my gravitar is linked to it. i would like to use my gravitar for ask ubuntu, but it won't accept it, as my email address has already been registered. HELP PLZ!!

you can change your email address in account. and i think your old account is obsolete now so you can not use old account and info.

try after changing ID in your new account.

It sounds like you didn't just add email address to your account: you registered a whole new account, and then merged your old account into your new one. Depending on how Ask Ubuntu works, it may be sufficient to rename your account back to mattadams-adams on https://launchpad.net/~/+edit. In future you should add new emails at https://launchpad.net/~/+editemails, rather than registering a new account.
