Chromium PPA Builds - Last One 3 Weeks Old

Asked by Stephen Allen

Any idea as to when these releases might be resumed?

I was tracking and downloading the Chromium Develper version that was following the Google-Chrome-Dev release cycle. There have been several releases by Google since the last Chromium PPA was built 3 weeks ago.

Thanks!

You'll need to contact the owner of that PPA -- it's maintained by a Launchpad user, not any of the Launchpad staff.

Thought that was what I was doing! Can you not forward it to the proper
person?

I don't know which PPA you're referring to. If it's <https://launchpad.net/~chromium-daily/+archive/dev>, follow the questions and bugs link under "Adding this PPA to your system" and then use the contact link on the right.

The ask Ubuntu thread isn't answering my question.

I'm asking about a specific ppa and I've emailed the maintainer or who is
listed as just having joined the project, but no answer in almost a week has
been forthcoming.
Pretty disappointing in the way this project handles administrative
issues like this. Not good.

What are you referring to when you say "this project"?

Let me reinforce what has already been mentioned:

Launchpad itself provides the hosting and build infrastructure to enable PPAs to exist ONLY.

What packages people and teams do or do not upload to PPAs is entirely their own affair (subject to the PPA Terms of Use, of course).

In essence, in this question, you are expressing your disappointment to unrelated third parties.

Hey I'm just responding to the post made today where someone posted a link
to an external site. <shrug>

Stephen:
My apologies (I'm a random member of the public too) - I thought you were only asking "Why haven't there been updates to the chromium-browser PPA" and failed to read your more recent comments. The PPA you refer to was/is run by people (perhaps members of the public) volunteering their time.

The other commenters were upset because you filed your question against the launchpad project. Every time we posted a comment to this question those folks are getting email about a project they don't have anything to do with! (Sorry folks). It should have been in against chromium-daily-ppa ( https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-daily-ppa/+addquestion ), I'll attempt to move it there...

We're still trying this back online. Should be forthcoming soon, the chromium stable PPA is now building the latest stable. I'll do beta next as time permits followed by the dev PPA.
