How to install the 0.9.2 ?

Asked by kris969

Alvaro,

Remember, You guide me to instal the 0.9.2 prior to the official announce.
I did with the source I build on my laptop. It was to check if a bug was still in this version.

Now I see that the 0.9.2 is available in the official packages on Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 6.

My question is very basic for you.
How can I remove the actual version on my laptop, I want to install it again with synaptic or an apt-get install to be updated with ubuntu

Thanks for your reply

Regards
Kris

go to the folder where the source is, where you ran the command "sudo make install"

There, run this command:

sudo make uninstall

That's it. You can install from Synaptic then.

Alvaro,

Thanks for your your reply.
I was aware about this method to do it, that is the normal one. But as I
am testing Ubuntu I want to be sure not adding some odds in the
configuration.

So I roll back, on the run, to the original synaptic distrib.

Regards

Kris

Don't worry. That's all you have to do to uninstall.

Oups !

I have done it and I see a little problem !

Previously I posted a bug report on Launchpad about window size and movement. I tried on 0.9.2 on your recommendation, and I confirmed that the problem was not on this release.
With the 0.9.2 installed from synaptic, I can move the main window without any problem but I can't resize it. As this main window is wider than my laptop screen it is not very useful.

Here are the news

Please report that as a bug on ubuntu KmyMoney package. It looks like they have a problem with the package, or with the decorator of Kubuntu 8.10
