can you suggest who offers training in person for KICAD

As far as I know, no one offers on-site training in the traditional sense. There are several tutorials both written and video tutorials that can help get you up to speed. You can find links to some of them on the KiCad website at http://www.kicad-pcb.org/display/KICAD/Tutorials. A quick search will probably yield even more information. The KiCad users group at Yahoo is also a decent resource for information. There is always the KiCad documentation which contains most of the information needed to use KiCad. Although it tends to lag the code development some what and is need of some work. That being said, if the financial incentive was attractive enough, I'm sure you could find a knowledgeable developer or sufficiently advanced user that would be willing to provide this service.

Yes, I know I guy, and he did a board for me last month.

He would be perfect for you. He lives out in Bee Caves or Bee Creek, just west of Austin.
