PPA for stable releases

1) What problems have you had with the nightly one, other than the fact that you probably
need to add and remove it to your sources.list file such that you do not get a new one
every night?

2) Which of those above problems will not be in the stable version?

3) Which of the two versions will get fixed faster?

For a group of PCB designers who want to share designs and cooperate, cross-platform, where not everybody wants to build their own software or keep updating it every week, what would the best option be? I believe something like stable releases could fit that purpose well.

I see on the official download site http://iut-tice.ujf-grenoble.fr/cao/ that there are some versions with "stable" in the name but the rest is only dates and commit IDs and not conventional version numbers. Are there stable branches which receive critical bug fixes, and which innocent users can linger on for a while?
