well to 'perspective' some image you need image & 'perspective frame' - the path which guide the perspective process.
The Perspective extension placed in Extensions-Modify Path-Perspective.

p.s. what the matrix you told about?

hi,
I do not want to do anything special just distort it so it looks to be
in 3d space.
Can you point me to the menu items ?

In >object>transform there is the tab "matrix" I assume there I could
distort the image but I do not know what each abcdef does ?

regards

mick

Hello Mick

Simple 3D perspective could be achieved through way, I proposed after
(Extensions->Modify Path->Perspective) - that solution I use in
http://openclipart.org/media/files/boobaloo/13835 - I draw symmetric
drops, then draw trapezium and apply Perspective.

The Matrix coefficients good explain contain in
http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Transforms.html#Transforms-Transform
- btw very cool book about Inkscape at all.

Cheerz, Oleg

when i select extensions/modifyPath/perspective
a box comes up saying "this extension requires 2 selected paths"

I haven't quite hit on what I am supposed to do exactly.

help appreciated

well, what you need is two path - the first on is modified object, and the second is modifier path (note - you need PATHs for that, not primitives, such as circles or rectangles - turn the primitives into paths before applying effect). that's all. try to play with it and you catch the sense.

Can you help with this problem?
