Inkscape

Inkscape does not pring the water mark.

I am trying to develope a letterhead. I have completed the task with watermark at the page. I could not get Inkscape to print the watermakr when sent to the printer.
I have also downloaded a template letter head that has been developed by others that also has a wattermark, still it does not come out on the printer.

I wonder if there is a way Inkscape could be persuaded to print the watermark.

Hi David,

Inkscape still has some printing bugs.
Could you try to export your image to PDF or PNG, and then print it with an external tool?

I thank you for you suggestion. I have tried printing as PDF. Acroread does show the water mark but does not print it!

Xpdf does not show the water mark!

I am puzzled?

Is an exported PNG (File>Export) more reliable?

The PNG export has captured all the objects. However, it has reduced
the size and resolution is lost. If I increase the resolution I end up
with large file size.

Yes, a PDF would be more convenient...
Could you try a recent dev build? Lots of PDF issues are now fixed in these builds.
You can find one for Windows (http://inkscape.modevia.com/win32/?M=D), MacOSX (http://inkscape.modevia.com/macosx-snap/?M=D), and there's also a Linux package (https://launchpad.net/~inkscape-nightly/+archive/ppa).
