Invisible pop-up text

All of the pop-up balloons have invisible text inside them, regardless of which tool is made active by hovering the mouse over them. Inkscape v0.91 has been replaced, as well as the ./config/inkscape folder in the local directory, but to no success.
Where is the setting to restoring visible text inside the pop-ups?

Let me make a guess here:

- you're on Linux
- you're using KDE

If this is the case, the setting to restore the visible text inside the tooltips is in your system settings.

The answer is correct, I had to change "apply colors to non-QT programs"
to OFF and that fixed the problem
