freezing jerky action when using Wacom Tablet

Asked by jdtshadesofgrayrecording

I have read some of the other reports about "jerky" response when using the Wacom Bamboo tablet in Inkscape. Most of these posts (which are almost a year old) refer to a GIMP update as a possible solution, but the link to this update appears to be broken.

Is there any "more current" info on this problem or is it a dead issue? I think Inkscape is a very versatile graphics application, but without the ability to use of my tablet effectively, it seems rather pointless to try.

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I discovered this patch (dll) posted by VOON at this location

http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14633485/libgdk-win32-2.0-0.dll

Download the dll and place in Inkscape folder. Even though it was there already, replacing it and then starting Inkscape seems to solve the problem. The Input Dialog box also works correctly.

I am using a Bamboo Fun tablet with Windows Vista (no comment!)

Thanks Slipaway! Awesome solution. I just saved that .dll directly to the Inkscape folder overwriting the .dll that existed, and the problem was solved. Amazing enough, my pen actually works like a pen in Inscape... cool.
