Where is Generate from paths->paths to OpenSCAD
What a pain in the butt!!!!!!!!
All I want to know is where on the menu to find "Generate From Paths" FROM A SEARCH WINDOW!!!!!! I am supposed to be able to find it on the menu and cannot see it anywhere.
"Simple search", not Create and Account for Unbutu and log into an account and look through a butt load of unrelated answers. this is simple beginning stuff. I do not need to bother anyone for a PhD dissertation.
Sorry, I am up against a time limit. Can we tone down the geek stuff and get a "simple" easy to find answer? Where on the menu is "generate from paths??????" Please!

\title{A more precise answer, in the subtler style of a PhD dissertation}
\section{
Even though I answered to the actual question you asked, a more thorough look at the title of your inquiry leads me to think that you are not interested in the "generate from path" menu, but you are looking at some "paths to OpenSCAD" feature.
\section{Our Contribution}
Unaware of such a feature in that great tool that inkscape is, I used the greatest tool that was invented in the late XXth century, namely Google Search[1]. A quick googling lead me to believe you are looking for third-party extension, as described for instance in [2] and [3], (the reviewer may note these are only the first example website that came on the search, not a exhaustive search on the state of the art. Other sources may have been overlooked and may contain more informations on the subject).
\section{Conclusion and perspectives}
We are convinced that the reader, however hurried, may find in these resources the answers he was looking for.

I have been using that great invention called the internet since the first days of simple search engines. I tried Google and it lead me to the same article on converting 2D to 3D by downloading InkScape and OpenScad but I have not been able to find "Path to OpenScad" anywhere on the menu of Inkscape. Both OpenScad and Inscape seem a bit primative compared to Photoshop and Paintshop Pro x7 but I am greatful for them.
As for my "hurry" I have been at this project for months. My endocrine system is shutting down and I am having trouble sitting up because of disk degeneration. I hope my haste does not offend.
If you understand that I am attempting to convert 2D images to 3D images using InkScape and OpenScad and that I have an svg file that I need to convert to a file that OpenScad can read, you will understand where I am at. The instructions from "Thingiverse" say to get to Extensions > Generate From Path> path to openScad. I cannot get past "Generate From Path."
Google/none of the search engines helped me or I would not have asked anyone. If you have a good link I would appreciate it. I greatly appreciate your reply.

The "Extensions > Generate From Path " does not have anything that says Paths to OpenSCAD.
The description is in Thingiverse
"This Thing is an Inkscape extension to export Inkscape paths to OpenSCAD. There has been at least one prior Thing attempting this, Thing #9376. However, it only handled a small subset of SVG. This extension handles SVG arcs, clones, circles, ellipses, groups, lines, paths, polygons, polylines, rects, and splines. It also follows document transforms as well as viewports. Either an entire document or just the selected portions of a document are processed.
SVG text must first be converted to a path within Inkscape using Inkscape's "Path > Object to Path" menu item."

"Paths to OpenSCAD" is an Inkscape extension which is not included in the program, but was written by someone else.
(Everyone can write an extension for Inkscape)
Find it on the web, download and install following the above description in the FAQ :)
Kind regards,
Maren

Adam,
could you please rephrase your last comment? I do not understand well what you mean. I'm not a native English speaker.
Especially, I do not understand which file you are trying to move where.
Kind regards,
Maren
