Hi Jag,

if you want a line with a stroke that is equally wide everywhere:
Double-click on the tool's icon to get to its settings dialog.
Choose to use 'last used style' or set a different preset style for the tool (copy from an object with a stroke of the correct width).
The attribute you want to change can be found in the third tab of the Fill&Stroke dialog (Shift+Ctrl+F) as 'stroke width'.

If you want to adjust the thickness of the line so that the line isn't equally thick everywhere, take a look at the Live Path Effect 'Powerstroke'.
More info can be found here:
http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Release_notes/0.91#PowerStroke

Or take a look at the calligraphy tool ('c') and its settings.

Kind regards,
 Maren

Hi Maren,

Thanks a lot for the quick reply and tip on line thickness adjustment. It
worked like a charm. Keep up the the good work. I am a FSF man myself,
though not active.
