I cannot get my FedoraRGB.gpl file to show up in the drop-down palette selection. I have added it to the palette directory. I am using Linux.

Asked by Cayci Gorlitsky

I have added a FedoraRGB.gpl file to the palette directory of Inkscape. However, my file does not show up in the palette drop-down list in the editor. I have the same problem in Linux and Windows. Please help?

Could you please share the link where you downloaded the palette from (or provide otherwise information on how this file can be retrieved) to allow further investigation?

Hi! Thank you :)

I copied and pasted this data into Notepad++, and saved with a gpl
extension:

The palette from the link you shared works as expected with Inkscape 0.48 (tested on Ubuntu 13.04 and OS X 10.7.5).

Please verify that the palette file was installed into a correct location:

On Linux, the recommended location to install user palettes is
~/.config/inkscape/palettes/

On Windows, the user palettes are loaded from
%APPDATA%\inkscape\palettes\

Note: you can paste the above path as is into the address bar of the Explorer in case you don't know where your system stores user data - or visit <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environment_variable#Default_Values_on_Microsoft_Windows> which lists the paths for different Windows versions.
