When I cut and paste a shape, the pasted shape is pixelated and at a lower resolution.

Asked by Jose Esquilin

I have recently downloaded Inkscape for my new iMac.
Recently noticed that my cut and past option results in the pasted image being at a lower resolution and pixelated.
Perhaps I have a setting incorrectly set?
thank you

This is due to a conflict with the pasteboard syncing features of Apple's X11/Xquartz.

Please change the X11 preferences for the pasteboard as described in the FAQ:
<http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/FAQ#Copying_and_pasting_in_Inkscape_creates_pixellated_images_instead_of_copying_the_vector_objects>
or as shown in this screenshot:

Thank you -
 I have noticed that although my iMac is new - with 1GB dedicated video
there is a bit of a lag when using inkscape. Is this typical?
I wasn't expecting this from all the information that I received and why I upgraded to this iMac.
Not able to afford the full blown Adobe Illustrator - I would say inkscape rivals it very well.
