why doesn't Inkscape have an option to save as a jpeg?

Asked by mari allenstein

why doesn't Inkscape have an option to save as a jpeg? That's the most commonly used form. Especially for email, and even saving as a pdf acrobat can't read the files. Eps, vector, bitmap, I've tried all the file extensions-recipients can't open them, hell I cant even re-open them unless I save as SVG.

No jpeg, gif, tiff options to save as and there should be. All programs of this type have those options, or at least jpeg. Why would InkScape not have it? Seems a bit silly to me.

Hello,

Which ones? Almost all the editors I know support the PNG format.
If you need a free one, I suggest that you give Gimp a try (www.gimp.org).

Regards.
