That was a load of crap. Original question was? why inkscape cannot print on request?

Asked by G.Davies

When inside 'Inkscape' I cannot just click 'print' icon. experiments to date are that I have to change at each request to 'Bitmap' format rather than default 'vector' WHY.
I recieve a message within my printer queue 'processing' but nothing is happening.
if I change from vector to bitmap and send a second request a second item appears in the print queue.
Only when I cancel the vector print request does the second request change fro pending to processing, to printing. and the print job is executed.
I have a bog standard Epson Stylus SX210 printer. I downloaded more drivers, just to ensure no conflict, but same problem.
If I change to LibreDraw, import the same graphic file IT PRINTS ON DEMAND????????
Resolution would be good.
I can find no way of making the change from vector to bitmap a default.

just a guess . what is being created on screen is just a mathematical equation. kinda like pointing a camera at your head and taking a picture of your thought....not going to happen. when the vector is saved in one of the many formats at becomes 'visible'. i would guess that if you opened a file eg. eps, then it may print because it already exists.

Good day to you,
Thank you for your interest.
As I have responded to others on this matter, in terms of having mounted this particular software on another machine, with a different printer.
And received the exact same results, I am of a mind that the problem is not 'metaphysical' as you would like to suggest.
As a previous user of 'Coral Draw' which the 'Inkscape' software promotes as a substitute.
I have come to the conclusion that it best to leave these problems to the developer's.
When an answer is found it maybe good to try again.
I have found that I have had, since converting to 'Linux' that all my work in 'Coral' has had to be re-done.
As I have not found a 'Linux' software solution that has been able to convert and bring forward as a converted copy.
Prompting a return to  Windows to maintain my work.
My opening lines in the original attempt to find a solution was due to the frustration of, going to the developers web site - asking a question- and being diverted to an ethernet of helpers.
Inclusive of all the registrations and routines, when all I wanted was a response from the declared developers, (website) 'Simples'
Thanks for your input, but as said I will maybe come back to this software when the problems are resolved.
Regards.
Geoff

Good day to you,
In answer to your question, 'Are you still having a problem?'
The short answer is no.
I have abandoned 'Inkscape'.
