how to draw electrical circuits in inkscape

can any body help me how to draw electric symbols like resistors, transistors using inkscape?? i'm newbe and just heard it can be easily done in inkscape

Use rectangles, lines, circles, text. Easy as that.

That is ok. I mean if you need to draw a symbol of a resistor do we every
time need to draw a zig zag line or is there any option/tool which can draw
 the symbol for me if I provide only end points.

Make yourself a library of objects you use, then duplicate these and reuse all the time. If symbol contains of more than one object, group these.

To duplicate, select an object and press Ctrl+D. Or drag the object to place, press Space to duplicate it and press Esc to leave the original where it was.

When your symbol contains text which needs changing, press F8 after duplicating it and click on the text.

Make sure you have snapping of path nodes enabled.
