epson printer driver

Asked by David Thomas

Having problems with the Epson 1400 and Epson 1430 wide format series printers printing from Inkscape - when printing pictures.
The pictures have clear printed vertical lines across the image, sometimes only parts of the image will print and horizontal lines
will drop and then move back up causing the lines to print uneven. I can send the same image to my HP 8500 and have no problems
except the color quality is not as accurate because it only uses three colors. The Epson 1400 and Epson 1430 wide format printers
use 6 colors.

I've tried reinstalling, technical support, which has sent me new printers on both series twice, all the maintenance with the printers.
Epson technical support has nailed it down that Inkscape is not compatible with the Epson.

I am hoping there is a solution because the quality of this printer is what I want for the application I am using it for.

Thank you,
WatermanDave

Save to PDF and use your favourite PDF viewer to print.

mahfiaz, I have tried that but find that printing from a PDF does not print the
color as accurate as from Inkscape. It appears much darker and I can't seem
to lighten it in the properties.
I am using Inkscape to design on vinyl and want the colors to be accurate.
When I print from Inkscape, I'm getting the exact color I see on the screen but
I'm missing parts of the images or have uneven lines in the print.
Thanks,
Dave

You should file a bug report and attach you file and photo of printer output to the report.
It would be good if you ruled out the following:
* are the stripes exactly the same when you print exactly the same file twice
* are the stripes excatly the same when you print different file

Are there any patterns or something else which might help finding the source of this problem?

Can you help with this problem?
