How to copy stroke or fill style from one object to another?

Asked by Gregor Shapiro

I have an object with a stroke style which I have fiddled with until I like it.I want to copy that stroke style to another object so that they both have identical stroke qualities. Same goes for fill style.

1) Copy the object with the fill&stroke attributes you want to use for other objects (Ctrl+C)
2) select a target object
3) use 'Edit > Paste Style' (Shift+Ctrl+V)

This should be easier to find in the manual?

See also menu 'Help > Tutorials > Inkscape: Advanced', first section 'Pasting techniques'…

Or the online HTML version (suited for printing):
