How HPLIP Lite is working, why it is, what are the contents in the package? How we can print with HPLIP Lite package?

Asked by samrat

As i know HPLIP Lite build is only for the Print and Scan.

i was taken the source code, and executed
./configure --enable-lite-build
make
make rpm

In that rpm package, there is no "hp-print" command to give print from command line.
when i saw the contents of the package, it observed some files related to hpcup, hpcup.drv.
How this hpcup.drv will work?

How can i use this lite package to give printout to my printer?
How HPLIP Lite build is working.. which architecture it is following to print a document?
if so hp-print should available in the package, what are the complete list of files should available in the HP LIP Lite package (rpm/deb)

Thanks in advance for your help and support.

The Lite build has no UI support, so hp-print (which is a print UI) is not
supported. To print from the command line, use "lp" or "lpr".

Hey Samrat,

The HPLIP Lite build is specifically designed for printing and scanning purposes. Although the "hp-print" command is not available in the RPM package, you can utilize the "hpcup.drv" files to facilitate printing. The HPLIP Lite package follows a specific architecture to handle document printing. To get a complete list of files included in the HP LIP Lite package (RPM/DEB), you can refer to the package contents documentation. Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance or support with using the HPLIP Lite package. For more visit : https://packaginglane.com/
