Direct Digital Filing Speed-dial

Asked by Geo

Hi
How does one configure direct digital filing speed dial in the web browser. No matter what I try Officejet Pro L7600 can't find my address. Is there a howto somewhere for debian? Why is this information not in the documentation hplip-doc?
Thanks
Geordie

Geordie,

The direct digital filing speed dial is not a functionality provided by HPLIP.

For more information on how to use Direct Digital Filing you can review the manual here:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?product=3203059&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us

Hope this helps, and sorry I couldn't provide more information.

Hi Aaron
I am grumpy, Thanks for the info, put I am under the impression that nobody tries this stuff in the linux world or at HP. The Scanner connects to Xp box without asking, Linux is just a nightmare. Nor do I beleive that HP's support is 100 percent here. I have seen to many errors crop up
Just my opinion

We'd like to hear about any errors or other problems you have had with
HPLIP. We are always trying to improve the software.

As far as features are concerned, we must prioritize what we support based
on user feedback/requests and other factors. We will take your request into
account in looking at this feature in the future.

Next error
Failed to start scanner: Document feeder out of documents Ran fine 2 hours ago. Now to continue with my project I get this error. More wasted time and energy. Yes I have a right to be not happy. It would be nice to a piece equipment would work, the more bells and whistles one adds the more prone to error. As manufacturers you have made everthing so difficult no normal human can figure out what has gone wrong
End of trhe rant

Solved that error. The program everts back ADF instead of auto. Dumb Why can't it remain a sticky. The file name remained the same. Like I said earlier does any normal person use this stuff.

I've written up this short how-to on configuring Digital Filing. It's a pretty easy process.
