can't get scanner apps to work, printer works great otherwise

Asked by mimi boothby

i just installed the HP stuff for my UBUNTU system and my new HP MFP M278 3 in one printer
I'm not a very advanced user, so even though I read that quite a few other users had the same problems I did, I was not able to follow the directions to fix my scanners. i did HP-LIP automatic from the command line. I'm running UBUNTU 18.04.3 thanks for your help

Hi,

While doing hp-scan or scanning through xsane, what error you are getting?

After installing the run file, have you installed the plugin file with same version? If not, please install plugin file and check again.

Hey Shivani,

HP-plugin fails with the following errors.

Plugin installation failed

error: Python gobject/dbus may be not installed

error: Plug-in install failed.

But python-gobject and python-dbus are installed.
