HPLIP command syntax

Asked by Paul

I have LINUX Mint 6, I use a HP 1215 PSC which is fine in printing mode but I couldn't get it to scan.
I have installed the HP device Manager HPLIP 2.8.7 and find in the configure panel: F2, under Scan, the command line is empty
Does anyone know the command line and syntax to start the scanner?
If I use terminal, command: hp-scan -n I get a dialogue with a request for which device, and the HPLIP panel sees the scan start and end fine, so how can I do this from the HPLIP panel.

If this is a bit vague I apologise, I have only been using Linux for 4 weeks, I was M$ for over 20 yrs until Vesta(!)

Try running 'xsane'. It will most likely be in your system menu under
"Graphics" or similar title. If not, use your system tools to install it.

Thak you, it wasn't installed. Downed the package and it's fine now.
