hplip cannot connect P1102w

Asked by Erik P. Olsen

My old P1102w has worked without problems so far but after installing hplip version 3.18.6-1 I have been unable to connect the printer to my router. hp-setup ends with following messages:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/hplip/ui5/wifisetupdialog.py", line 754, in NextButton_clicked
    self.showExitPage()
File "/usr/share/hplip/ui5/wifisetupdialog.py", line 573, in showExitPage
    self.ip, subnetmask, gateway, pri_dns, sec_dns, addressmode = self.wifiobj.getwifiotherdetails(self.dev,self.adapterName)
AttributeError: 'WifiSetupDialog' object has no attribute 'wifiobj'

Apparently there is atypo in line 573, wifiobj is wrong it should have been wifiObj. With this corrected the dialog runs to the end, claims the it indeed is connected and that it should be installed with hp-setup which just rns in a ring.

I am running Fedora 28 fully upgraded. Is there a newer hplip with which I may have success?

Regards, Erik.

There is a newer version 3.18.7 available at https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/gethplip
As far as I can see, at least the capitalization of wifiobj is still wrong.

Thank you. Ran the new hplip to no avail. Received the following messages:

GET /IoMgmt/Adapters/wifi0/VsaCodes.xml HTTP/1.1
Host: localhost
User-Agent: hplip/3.0
Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
Content-Length: 0

warning: Request Failed With Response Code 204

So still unable to connect P1102w to the router.

HI,

We checked the wifisetupdialog.py file and it is "wifiObj.getwifiotherdetails" only. Please try on latest HPLIP driver 3.18.9.
We have verified wifi option with hp printers on fedora 28 and it worked fine.

Srinivas Teja.
