HPLIP

HP OfficeJet 6951 printer works but scanner doesn't

I bought a HP OfficeJet 6951 to use with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Printer works but scanner doesn't. I tried Simple Scan and XSane. Is it possible to fix or this machine is just incompatible?

Hi Cristina,

Are you quering for OfficeJet 6951?
We don't support OfficeJet 6951 in our HPLIP driver but we do support OfficeJet 6950.

Yes, mine is 6951. Is there any chance for this printer to be supported in
the future or should I take it back to the shop and buy another one?

Yes this printer will be supported, please check the HPLIP portal for the new release updates.
