Where is the PPD file for the OfficeJet Pro 8210, please?

Asked by Steve Hayes

New installation of Fedora 28 x86_64 with HPLIP does not offer a PPD for the 8210. Closest seems to be the 8100. I bought the 8210 to replace an 8100 that died and I switched from Canon printers to HP precisely because of the HPLIP initiative brought better Linux support.

hplip.x86_64 3.18.4-1.fc28 @updates

Hi Steve,

Fedora 28 is not supported by HPLIP yet. But you can find the PPD file for OfficeJet Pro 8210 in following path if the HPLIP driver is installed properly in your system:

/usr/share/ppd/HP/hp-officejet_pro_8210-ps.ppd.gz

Thanks,
Shivani

Many thanks... in the end I gunzip -c...ed it to .local/share/ppd/HP and
was able to install the driver using the Fedora Settings App.

Thanks... to get the Fedora settings app to find it I had to guzip -c it to .local/share/ppd/HP and pick the .ppd my hand.
