1022 communication error after upgrade to 3.9.2

Asked by jens

Hi,

after the upgrade to 3.9.2 (debian testing) my printer won't work anymore.
I tried to setup the printer again(which worked), but I get communication errors when trying to print a testpage:

error: Unable to communicate with device (code=12): hp:/usb/HP_LaserJet_1022?serial=FL01NQL
error: Device not found

Any idea?

Thanks,
Jens

PS: hp-check output:

hp-check -r

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or
.run) to determine if the proper dependencies are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an
already built HPLIP supplied tarball has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode will check both of the above cases (both
compile- and run-time dependencies).

Please run:

/usr/lib/cups/backend/usb

and post the output.

What version of debian are you using? You may need to add your user to the lp and scanner groups.

Thanks.

Hi,

it seems that this is a generell usb related issue on my system (disks connetcted by usb show strange behavior).
I'm using debain testing/unstable, so things might get broken after lenny is out.
I will provide more infos a soon as I find out more.

Thanks so far,
Jens
