HPLIP

Officejet 6500

I recently bought an Officejet 6500. I didn't see it listed in the list of supported printers at all (neither supported nor unsupported). Is there plans to support this version in the future? If so is there an expected release date?

Distribution: Kubuntu 8.10
Printer: Officejet 6500 Wireless (wirless network configuration)

FYI, I got printing working by using the driver for the officejet 6300 in CUPS, but I couldn't get scanning to work other than through the webscan interface.

We will be providing support for this device in a future release of HPLIP--more than likely within the next several months.

I just bought this same printer (Officejet 6500 Wireless), and I see that it is has partial support. I am using Ubuntu 9.04 and am unable to scan. Will this printer ever have full support to allow scanning?

We are working on a solution for scanning on this device.
