Asus EEE pc 900, LINUX compatible ¨all in one¨ printer/scanner

Asked by Lady_Jane

I have a Asus EEE 900 pc that runs on linux Xandros Debian, and I want to buy an ¨All in One¨ printer/scanner/copier. Which one works on Linux, I have tried several, but nothing seems to work. Which one does work on my Linux system???????
Also I need to buy an external DVD/RW small, lightweight, CD player. Which one works on my Linux system?????
I have been told that the LaCie 301230 EK works, does anybody have this, and does it work????

HPLIP does work with the EeePC--however the install process is manual. You can get information on installing HPLIP on the EeePC here:

http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/distros/eeepc.html

As for which printer you should purchase--I can't provide you a specific model that will work best for your situation. If you have specific requirements you can contact HP Sales from http://www.hp.com and they can recommend a specific printer that will meet your needs. Then you'll want to cross reference the printer they recommend with our printer support page here:

http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/supported_devices/index.html

Then you'll know which printer will work best for you. Otherwise, you can look at the printers that HPLIP supports and determine which printer will work best for you based on the printer features and if it's supported by HPLIP.

As for other non-HP hardware--I'm not able to provide any recommendations.

Hope this helps, and thanks for your support of HPLIP.
