missing ppd file on Ubuntu Server 16.04

Asked by Carl DeAlto

I Installed HPLip on my Ubuntu Server 16.04. When I enter: Sudo hp-setup -i the process continues normally until I select the printer queue I want to add.

---------------------
| PRINT QUEUE SETUP |
---------------------

Please enter a name for this print queue (m=use model name:'HP_LaserJet_Professional_P1102w'*, q=quit) ?m
Using queue name: HP_LaserJet_Professional_P1102w
Locating PPD file... Please wait.
error: No PPD found for model laserjet_professional_p1102w using old algorithm.
error: Unable to find an appropriate PPD file.

Would you like to specify the path to the correct PPD file to use (y=yes, n=no*, q=quit) ?

it also happens when I try another printer:

---------------------
| PRINT QUEUE SETUP |
---------------------

Please enter a name for this print queue (m=use model name:'Officejet_Pro_8600'*, q=quit) ?m
Using queue name: Officejet_Pro_8600
Locating PPD file... Please wait.
error: No PPD found for model officejet_pro_8600 using old algorithm.
error: Unable to find an appropriate PPD file.

Would you like to specify the path to the correct PPD file to use (y=yes, n=no*, q=quit) ? y
