When I download HPLIP it asks me to choose an application. What application?
I'm new to Linux (Ubuntu 8.04). In an attempt to get my HP1315 All-in-one up and running (the printer works but not the scanner) I downloaded the latest HPLIP and when I click on the downloaded file it asks to "Choose an Application." What application?

Chose "Save to Disk...", save it to somewhere convenient, like your Desktop.
Then, open a terminal/console and enter:
~: $ cd Desktop
~/Desktop: $ sh ./hplip-2.8.10.run
