failure to print

Asked by andres

I have installed Ubuntu-8.10 and connected laptop to an HP LaserJet 1020 printer. The system detects the printer, and HPLIP detects the printer. However, when I launch printing a test page it doesn't print. Both HPLIP and the system say that the job (printing the test page) is completed. What can I do in this situation?

"This printer REQUIRES a downloadable driver plug-in. Use hp-setup to
install the printer, and to download and install the plug-in. In general,
required driver plugins are required for printing support. Driver plug-ins
are released under a proprietary (non-open) license and are not part of the
HPLIP tarball release."

Run hp-plugin to install the _required_ plugin.

Thank you, I tried hp-setup from root, and it downloaded the necessary plug-in. Now it works.
