hp-setup Error Invalid device URI

Asked by Narendra Babu H.C.

Hi,

I am working on porting HPLIP on Montavista Linux kernel 2.4.20

When i issue the "hp-setup i" following is the output.

HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 2.8.9)
Printer/Fax Setup Utility ver. 8.0

Copyright (c) 2001-8 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, LP
This software comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY.
This is free software, and you are welcome to distribute it
under certain conditions. See COPYING file for more details.

(Note: Defaults for each question are maked with a '*'. Press <enter> to accept the default.)

Error: Invalid Device URI

Using connection type: usb

Setting up device: hp:/usb/hp_LaserJet_1160_series?serial=00CNK2F08325

---------------------
| PRINT QUEUE SETUP |
---------------------

Would you like to install another print queue for this device (y=yes, n=no*, q=quit) ?
Done.

Please let me know how to resolve this.

Thanks,
Narendra

I believe you can safely ignore this error. Did the printer setup and print
the test page?

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply.
We can ignore this error if the printer prints the test page.
But the printer doesn't print the test page.

Please let me know is there any fix for this.

Thanks,
Narendra

Narendra,

Can we please get a copy of montavista? We haven't tested on this distribution and ideally if we can get a copy of it we can do some extensive testing and I can provide detailed instructions on how to install HPLIP on it.

Thanks.

Aaron
