HPLIP

laserjet 3050 doesn't present in a list of available printers in hplip-0.9.11

I have hplip-0.9.11 installed on my system ( ASPLinux-11.2, Fedora compatible ). The website ( http://hplip.sourceforge.net/supported_devices/laserjet.html ) says, that laserjet 3050 is supported since 0.9.8, but I don't see it in a list of available printer models ( closest is 3030 ) and the printer doesn't appears after connecting in a list of queues. Should I use hp-setup and hp_LaserJet_3020_3030.ppd.gz to install it ?

If possible please upgrade to the latest HPLIP. You can try the other PPD's but I can't promise it will work. Upgrading should resolve this.

The LJ 3050 was one of the printers in a class of devices that was marked as
supported in earlier versions of HPLIP (0.9.x and 1.x.x), but there was a
configuration issue in the driver data, so it actually was not supported.
This was corrected in a recent HPLIP release (2.8.7, I think). Upgrading to
the latest version should resolve this issue.
